Can't.Shut.My.Mouth. Wednesday

I snapped these pics of the neighborhood dogs a couple of weeks ago but just recently uploaded them to my computer.

I believe there were 6 pictures total.
I giggled as I uploaded these three (together in this order).

dogs1

I giggled because these pictures could easily represent a man and a woman.

:AHEM: a specific man named "Hunky Hubby" and a specific woman named "ME".

Surely you can guess which one I am, right?
HECK YEAH!
I'm the little one smacking the bigger one around.

Ok, I don't smack him around.
Nah, I don't do that anymore : )

But when I'm having one of THOSE days....Oh, you know the days.
One of those "I know you didn't just eat the last cookie" days...
Yeah, those.
This is what our typical argument looks like.

He's the calm one.
 I'm not.

He's the calm one.
It drives me insane.

He's still the calm one.
I bite him.

: )

I blame it on my genes.

and it started with a hair ball

You must hum Alanis Morissette's song "Ironic" while reading this post.

Before I got out of the bed this morning, I was laying there thinking about how nice it would be to jump into the bathtub and just soak for awhile.
(My back has been hurting lately and that is the only thing that makes me feel better.)
Then I realized that not only was hubby still sleeping but the kids would be up at any minute.
No bath for momma.

I came in here and jumped on the computer for a few minutes. I'm sitting here browsing and I hear it.
It as in THE CAT PUKING.
There's no other sound quite like a cat hacking up a hair ball.
NOPE nothing compares.

I sit here and brew for a few minutes and then hear Kiddo number 1 coming down the stairs.
"AHEM: Clean up on step number 1", I yell.
Afterall, the cat is only MY cat when she's not puking.

As she is finished cleaning up I notice that she's making her way towards the garbage can in the kitchen.
"OH NO YOU DON'T", I said.
"Take that to the bathroom and flush it."

*CUE THAT MUSIC*
You know the music....the music that plays when something bad is about to happen.

Big Girl: "The toilet is stopped up."
Me: "GRRR!"

71667026

I rush in there and water is coming out and it's everywhere.
Not just a normal clog.
There is 3-4 inches of water in there.
I clean it up and try to flush again.
MORE FLIPPIN' WATER
The floor is soaked
Towels are soaked.
I'm soaked.
Toilet is still clogged.

Did I mention that I was irritated?
Yeah, because I was.

I finally get it cleaned up for the second time.
I head to my bathroom.
I'm getting that bath that I longed for this morning.

AFTER cleaning up the floor soaked with the water... by the girl with the paper towel....the paper towel that was puked on by the cat....the cat with the hair ball...

Let me also mention that after I was done with my soak, I realized that there were no clean towels.
*See above.

They say it's all about the journey.
hmph...

FYI: One paper towel is flushable. Six paper towels, NOT SO MUCH.
I knew we should have bought that big brawny guy's papertowels.

P to the S: This is not the post that I was going to publish originally. I'll save that one for tomorrow.

Guess what? It involves bathtubs too.
How ironic.

Blind-Sided

Mama's Losin' It

One of the prompts this week for Mama Kat's Writers Workshop is :

Who blind-sided you? Write about a time someone caught you totally off guard.

This happens to me a lot.
too much

When BIGGER girl was around 5, we attended a birthday party.
It was a great party. We ate cute mini pizzas, decorated cookies and had cake.
FUN TIMES!
Games were played, treat bags were given out....
You know, Normal birthday party stuff

We got ready to leave and the birthday girl's mom asked BIGGER GIRL for a hug.
BIGGER GIRL jumped up and threw her arm around the mom's neck.
As she was coming down, SHE SPOKE (uh oh)
She asked the lady "Did you brush your teeth today?"
I.could.have.killed.her.

Being a mom means we have to THINK FAST and that's exactly what I did.

I said :
"Tee Hee...She's going through a phase where brushing is very important."
"She just can't get enough!"

I kept on babbling about how BIGGER GIRL thinks everyone has to brush like 50 times a day...blah blah blah

Bigger Girl was tugging at my pants leg trying to tell me that was NOT the reason.
(At least she's honest, huh)

I kept trying to SHOO her away and make her STOP but she kept on.
So, I started coughing.
I coughed a lot.
NEED WATER....
*we left*

I know my face was red.
and the fake coughing made it even redder

Another story that comes to mind is about the Lil Man.
He was about 3 (nearly 4) at the time.
We were sitting down acting silly when all of a sudden he says :
in an upbeat way-kind of like a song

Gimme 5
Up High
Down Low
Gimme a hug
Gimme a kiss
Now Let me touch your boob

:insert blank stare from me here:

MUMBO JUMBO

Why do my fingers smell like onion?
I guess it's better than my armpits smelling like one.

Why do Dora's parents let her roam the streets alone?
Do they not watch the news??
Oh, wait....she does have a monkey with her.
I guess it's ok then.

I bet Gerald stinks. (Sid the Science Kid)
He just looks like "the stinky kid".
I am also willing to bet that he has a snotty nose a lot.

can't.quit.sniffing.my.fingers.

My feet are always cold.
They still don't stink though.

The princess likes to put her foot in brother's face and say:
"Smell it...Smell it....TAKE IT...TAKE IT".

She says that's her SPECIAL MOVE.

It makes me laugh.
It makes hunky hubby roll his eyes.

My cat only drinks water from the toilet.
NEVER in her bowl
Is that odd?

Sometimes I feel as if I am talking like Charlie Brown's momma.

Why do my kids look at me like THAT?

WHAT?

ugh....WHATEVER!

I like to dance.
I sometimes make up my own moves.
The princess is the only one that will dance with me.
Ok, I take that back....
Lil Man can groove on demand also.
We call it "shaking our stinky tails".
It's not so clever looking when I type it out though.
It's kind of ODD.
Stinky Tails?
hmmm

Moving along . . .

flippin' onion smell will not go away

Do you think it's toxins coming through my skin?
Or whatever the "fancy term" is?

I've always wanted to be "cleansed".
Once, I thought about buying those sticky foot pads.
Ya know, the ones from the "AS SEEN ON TV" commercials?
Yeah those.
They were supposed to remove all kinds of toxins from your body.
I then saw a "DOES IT REALLY WORK" segment on my local news and they said not to waste my money.
So I didn't.

I love my Dyson.
Have I mentioned that before?
I enjoy looking at all the junk it sucks up.
I tend to suck up everything in sight.
NOT.EVEN.KIDDING.
One day I sucked up a sock.
Another day I sucked up some Littlest Pet Shop toys.
I almost sucked up Big Girl's toe one time.
You should see my kids run around when I turn that thing on!
Funny Stuff.

The kids asked me what was for dinner.
I replied: I dunno, what are you making?

They always give me the strangest looks.

The Princess asks me all the time "When will lunch be ready?"
I reply : "When it's ready."
I give her the SAME EXACT REPLY every day yet she still asks the question.
I don't get it.

I'm still curious as to why SPEIDI would follow me on twitter.
(yeah, both of them now)
I'm trying to think....
Have I ever dissed them?
I don't think I have.
Conan has.
Ok, half of the country has.
Maybe I should start dissing them?
I could start a twitter war or something.
Muahahahahaha

I've never heard Heidi Montag sing.

I just found out who Justin Bieber is.
Not my cup of tea but then again, I'm not 9.

I used to love New Kids on The Block.
(Danny, Donnie, Joe, Jon and Jordan)
that's all of their names in abc order

This onion smell is driving me insane.
Maybe it's my nose?

Whatever it is...
It's wiggity wack!

Look Honey, You are featured today

Last weekend we took our kids to a birthday party and dinner at one of our favorite eating establishments (that's fancy talk for PLACE TO EAT).

While we were waiting on our food, Hunky Hubby decided to play around with his new phone.
He posted one of those status updates to my favorite (GAG) social networking sites.
Ya know the one, (GAG) Facebook.

The food came.
We ate it.
It was good.
We left.

Fast forward .....2 hours LATER
I am sitting on the couch and figure I would jump on the computer and see if anything important was going on within the facebook community.
Ya never know when someone's BARN needs raising or when someone figures out that their mothering style is that of Marge Simpson instead of June Cleaver.
IMPORTANT STUFF, people!

As I am scrolling through all the mafia hits and pillow fights, I notice Hunky Hubby's status.

It read:
Hurts for dinner and itch later.

I giggled.
I laughed.
I laughed until I cried.

He was sitting on the other couch CLUELESS.

I almost posted right underneath him...
"Just scratch it."

But I couldn't keep it in any longer.

I told him what he had posted and he looked puzzled.
He realized that his phone (the fancy NEW one) had put those words in there for him thinking the other words were wrong. (Spelling wise)

It was supposed to read:
Huey's for dinner and UFC later.

HA
HA
HA

He immediately went in and deleted it.
AFTER IT HAD BEEN UP THERE FOR 2 HOURS!

This reminds me of the time he posted "black" as his status update.
Remember when all the women were posting their bra color as status updates?
Yeahhh.....

He saw the colors and figured that he would add his FAVORITE COLOR too.

Uh Huh
He deleted that one too.
AFTER I TOLD HIM WHAT THE COLORS REALLY MEANT

I love him.

the BIG head

The assignment:
3.) Open your picture folders…find a random “February” picture from a past year and tell a story.

This pic if from February 11, 2009
If you don't believe me then you can click this link.

wolvie Connor copy

A story?
Well, this was his hair before....
See it sticking up?
That's one of the reasons we "buzz" it now.

The other reasons?
He has a BIG head....BIG as in B--I---G.
That hair below?
It made it even bigger.
I'm not joking.
There was this one time where I almost had to cut an OLD NAVY hoodie off of him.
YEP!

It got stuck and would NOT go over his BIG HEAD.
I pulled.
He cried.
I pulled some more.
We both cried.
Just as I told BIGGER GIRL to grab a pair of scissors.....IT CAME OFF.
He never wore that hoodie again.

Hey, I didn't curse him with that big head.
My head is small.

The day after . . .

So, I found last year's DAY AFTER VALENTINE'S DAY pic and decided to compare it with this years pic.

I think I did better this year.

Sure, there are less chocolates leftover this time around but my heart is smaller than last year's heart.

PLUS
I also had cold leftover pizza for breakfast the day after Valentine's day last year.

NONE of that this year.

Although we did have pizza last night.....

Anyhoo, I think I did better.
What do you think?

baby steps, ya know

Last year

last year's chocolates

This year

candy

Who needs a scale?
I measure in chocolate.

How did you do?

In the closet . . .

I totally just hid in my closet to eat a Snickers Ice Cream bar.

snickers ice cream

I won't even lie and tell you that "I didn't want the kids to see me eating something so UNHEALTHY."
No, I won't

I hid because I didn't want them to see it.
I hid because I didn't want to share with them.

I was hungry.

SO WHAT?

hmm...
I better go get that wrapper out of the trash can.
(The trash can in my bathroom)

I wouldn't want anyone to think I was eating in the bathroom.
That would be kind of odd.

BUT THEN AGAIN

If I had to . . .

confession: I was once a thief

Eh,
Once....Twice....
Maybe Twelve times this year.

I stole this Christmas ornament idea from Fingerprints on the Fridge.
I did.
ornaments2
(We are giving these to grandma!)

ornaments1
The kids handprints made into cute snowmen.
Since we used clear ornaments, the kids signed their name on a slip of paper and stuck it inside.
I also printed "2009" on vinyl using my Cricut. (Finally)

I stole this cinnamon bread recipe from Daily Essentials and Deals.
(Giving some to Paw Paw)

Oh, and I snagged this peanut butter fudge recipe from someone on All Recipes.

But it's their own fault.

Yep.
They shouldn't have been so darn crafty.
&
They sure as heck shouldn't have posted it for everyone to see.
I mean, if I came up with a great idea like the above....
Well, I probably wouldn't share.
unless
there were bribes involved
Bribes of the Bon Bon kind.

just sayin'

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!

and TODAY....I confess

Sometimes....
When I am going down the road in my car

I will pick the cell phone up and put it on my ear

AND
Pretend to talk
(sometimes I will even laugh)

Ya know
Just to look cool and stuff.

Oh, and sometimes
When I pull up next to someone and they are staring at me.
I feel awkward.
So, what do I do?
I put the cellphone up to my ear.
AND
Pretend to talk
AND
even let out a giggle

Wanna know something that is NOT COOL....
When the cell phone actually rings
ya know,
When I am pretending to talk

It scares me.

I broke the 5 second rule

My confession for the week :

I broke the 5 second rule today.
Ok, since no one was around to see me break this rule. Does it still count as a break-age? hmmmm....

Popcorn started out in a bowl on top of my laptop.
BUT
ended up in the middle of the floor

My knee hit the laptop while I was typing.
(multi-tasking, people....multi-tasking)

I was deep in thought so I let the popcorn sit there for 10 seconds.
OK OK More like 20 seconds

I did eventually pick the popcorn back up....
AND YES
I ate it.

I wonder if those extra seconds caused me to injest even more bacteria?

Oh, ya know what...
This was not my only confession for the week.
I forgot all about the ones that I confessed over at Beki's blog.

I love stream of conscious blog posts. Nice to know I'm not the only person who thinks out loud.

I attribute it to the lack of memory after having kids. If I say it out loud, someone's bound to hear and remember for me, right?

Confessions of a Greedy Mom Blogger pt.1

It's been said that bloggers only blog for the free STUFF.
Heck, I won't deny it.
I will even give you PROOF of my greediness.

Consider this my tell-all book

Here's how my story begins
A long long time ago (not really that long ago) . . .
When we moved into our VERY FIRST house, our neighbor (from across the street) came over to introduce herself. After she commented on how TOTALLY AWESOME we were and how LUCKY she was to have us as neighbors, she said . . . .
"I have some mulch over there that I am not going to use it. Do you guys want it?"
I was all "HECK YEAHsssss"
I mean, afterall it was FREE!

She backed her truck up into my driveway and dumped the mulch right there on my front lawn.

Me: "WOW! Thanks so much for the FREE mulch!!"

She left and Hunky Hubby was all :
"Uh, you do know that is DIRT, right?"
Me: "Yep!"
Hunky Hubby: "Why do we need dirt?"
Me: "I dunno." but "IT WAS FREE!"
Hunky Hubby rolled his eyes and walked inside.
There I was . . .
Standing there with my FREE DIRT.
Thinking
Thinking
hmmm.....What shall I ever do with all this dirt?
I didn't even have flowers in my flower beds yet. Actually, I didn't even have beds for my flowers yet. All I had was a stick in the middle of the yard. (pathetic tree)Eh, it didn't really matter.
I mean . . . .IT WAS FREE.

As I stood there with my mind just-a -wandering, something caught my eye.
It was our other neighbor working in his flower beds.
Yep, knees deep into the ground
Hands covered in dirt
&
the look of pure frustration on his face.
I heard another voice in the background.
"Honey, I need to run to the store." she said
"We are going to HAVE to buy mulch."
He interrupted....
"But Sweetie Pie, We have no more money."
They both sighed.
Then it HIT ME
LIKE A TON OF BRICKS
I now knew what I was going to do with the FREE MULCH ! !
*
*
*
I would scoop it up and place it around my pathetic stick of a tree.
Afterall, those types of trees always look better with a mound of dirt surrounding them.

WHAT?
my free dirt . . .
mine
Obviously my dirt giving neighbor didn't like those OTHER neighbors or she would have given it to them.

So, that's how it began.
My greed.
My quest for all things free.
Uh, you know....the reason why I blog.
the same reason ALL bloggers (especially MOMMY bloggers) blog
What? You haven't heard??
And here you were thinking it was because I was a bored housewife with little to no connections with REAL PEOPLE.
HA!

to be continued...

blogging from the bathroom

OH BEHAVE!

*

It's not what YOU THINK.
Confession Time: Sometimes I tell the family that I am going to the ahem "ladies room" to ....
well you know
When really I am going in there to hide.
to relax
to think
to dream
TO BLOG or surf the internet
I lock the door and just sit there.
AHHHHH

Well, today I am doing that.
This post is coming LIVE from my bathroom.
You see, there are 8 kids in the other part of the house.
(Only 3 are my own)
I have been babysitting them for two weeks now.
I need a break.
They are driving me NUTS.
So, here I am . . .
hiding
IN THE BATHROOM.
The cat just left the door.
She scratched, then meowed and then she stuck one of her paws underneath the door.
She knows where I hide.
She tries to hide too.
I can't blame her.
I just skimmed through my new Betty Crocker Cookies & Bars magazine.
(lots of yummy cookies to look at)
Yep, I looked at and thought of FOOD in the Bathroom.
That has to be wrong in so many ways, right?
Oh well.
I've also been sitting here staring at one empty toilet paper roll.

Don't worry . . .
There's a full roll on top of the empty one though.
Someone was just too lazy to swap them.
Oh well.
I just heard a kid.
It was the princess.
She is calling me.
OH NO.
She came to the door.
I did not make a sound.
Maybe she will go away?
MAYBE NOT
Oh well.
I am not coming out.

Don't stand too close to me.....

I could blow up at any moment.

And the comment of the day goes to... (drum roll, please)
Mindy <---*click* says:
That's why I don't let my kids chew gum... I am totally freaked out about them swallowing it - which we all know they WILL! I don't know why I'm freaked out about it though... people do it all the time and they are fine... I mean physically -- wonder about the mental effects on people?! ;) Bwahahhaha!

The next time your kids swallow their bubble gum, just send them here.
I should be able to cure that!
oooh mommy, that lady is scary

Mommy Confessions

Oh my goodness.....
How do I even tell you something like this.
:deep breaths:
I KILL FLIES.
:hanging head in shame:
That's not the only bad part of this confession.
You see . . .
I also have my children HELP me in hunting down the lil suckers SO I CAN KILL THEM.
Yep, I make my kids run around and around until they find the fly and then armed with a fly swat thingy ma jig or newspaper I creep up on it and BAM!
What kind of example am I setting for my children?

Oh the HORROR!

I also kill mosquitos and ants.
I don't kill spiders though.
I make the hubby do that.
Sometimes I do toss shoes or books at them though.
That's abuse though, right?
oops...

Peta says we aren't supposed to kill flies though.
Even though they are YUCKY and ANNOYING and UGLY.
I guess they have feelings and stuff?
What do you think?

Hey, I actually told my husband that we shouldn't kill them.
We are supposed to hold out a little cup and ASK them to come to it.
Then we give the lil fly a ride (in a cup) to the door and let them just fly away.
My hubby thought I was crazy.
He hates flies more than me.

side note: (but not really a side not because it pertains to this subject)
Did you guys see the president pop that fly on tv?
lol
Peta was concerned about him killing the thing and I was concerned about the
Ummmm
Well...
Ya know
The "FLY REMAINS" being on his hands.
All together now . . .

EWWW!
another side note: I have much LOVE (PUFFY HEART LOVE) for animals. I just can't stand flies and other annoying and nasty insects.

Mommy Confessions (IMA CHEATER)

H-H-Helloooo
Is this thing on?
Um, can ya believe that I did not post one single thing of silliness yesterday?
Today I bring you another MOMMY CONFESSION . . .
Confession, not Confusion.
I'll save that one for ANOTHER day.

What's your confession, Linda?
IMA CHEATER!
UH HUH.
You know that thing that EVERYONE ELSE'S KIDS do but not mine.....no way NOT THEM?
For instance, when they are racing one kid will take an itty bitty shortcut just to get to the finish line quicker.
Or when they are playing a game and they don't like the number that the dice rolled for them.
What do they do?
Well, of course they ROLL AGAIN until they get a better number.
Don't you shake your heads.
YOUR KID IS A CHEATER!
CHEATER CHEATER PUMPKIN EATER!

And what does this have to do with YOU, Linda?
Oh yeah....
Me
It's all about ME today.
I cheat when reading bedtime stories.
My kids have this mentality that BIGGER is always BETTER so they always seem to pick the Biggest book that they can find.
BIGGER meaning the one with the most pages.
Do you see where I am going with this?
YeAaAaAh
I start with the best of intentions, I really do.
AND THEN . . .
we get to page 3 and it all goes downhill.
Ya see, I start making up my own story.
My stories usually start like this :
There was a beautiful princess that had a rockin' mom, they all lived happily ever after . . .
THE END!

or DID I?
I discovered that many books now come with CD'S.
AH-HA!
Could this be the answer to my prayers?
hmmm
NO
because I still have to turn the pages
and
well
sometimes I would become distracted and forget
which meant
the lil tykes would be all "MOM!" "MOOOOOOM"
Oops....

So, the next time you pull out SNOW WHITE and start reading it to my kid and she says
"That's not how the story goes"
Well, it's all because of ME.
I am so ashamed.
Ok, maybe only a little but I am still ashamed.

Mommy Confessions (IMA HOG!)

I am joining Mommy Confessions this week over at Life starring the Kids and Me....

In Victoria's own words:
As moms many of us have things that we would like to get off our chests or that we would just like to confession. So here is the place to do it!
So head on over there and link up.
I want to hear something really juicy!!

Here's my confession this week....
I HIDE SNACKS FROM MY KIDS.

:gasp:
It's true.
I hide goodies from the kids and eat them late at night.
Hey, my kids get enough junk throughout the week.
I am entitled to some snacks too, right?
When I mean I hide these.....
I mean I HIDE THESE!
I have boxes of candybars hidden in the very top of my cabinets.
(and these aren't the funsize candybars either)
I don't dare bring them out in front of my kids.
I AINT CRAZY!

Another Confession:
Sometimes I bring these candybars out and eat them while the kids are in another room.
However, If I hear them coming I either hide it behind a pillow or I shove the whole thing in my mouth and turn my head.

CANDY?
WHAT CANDY?

I am trying to save their teeth.
YEAH, that's my excuse!
