The Hub, a new television channel especially for kids and family time will feature popular characters such as Transformers, Strawberry Shortcake, My Little Pony and Pound Puppies in their own cartoon series.
The schedule includes live-action, scripted and non-scripted, animated and anime programs, reintroducing beloved characters and acquainting kids and their families with new ones. Also a part of the lineup is live-action game shows that pit families against other families in fun and friendly, but spirited, competition.
I've got to say, I am super excited about this one. A lot of that probably has to do with The Pound Puppies and My Little Pony. I won't lie. (hehe) The Hub actually takes me back to my childhood. Ya know, when cartoons were on for half of the day on Saturdays? *On all regular cable channels Of course, you can find cartoons any day of the week 24/7 now days but it's just not the same for me.
The Hub, a multi-platform joint venture between Discovery Communications (NASDAQ: DISCA, DISCB, DISCK) and Hasbro, Inc. (NYSE: HAS), will entertain, enlighten, empower and educate children and their families. The cable and satellite television network will feature original programming as well as content from Discovery's library of award-winning children's educational programming; from Hasbro's rich portfolio of entertainment and educational properties built during the past 90 years; and from leading third-party producers worldwide. The Hub lineup will include animated and live-action series, specials and game shows, and the network will extend its content through a robust and engaging online presence. The Hub will launch October 10, 2010 (10-10-10), reaching approximately 60 million U.S. households on what is currently Discovery Kids channel. The online home of The Hub is www.hubworld.com.

I just saw the preview last night. I am excited too! Love strawberry shortcake.:)
I saw some of the shows as a preview on our On Demand. I saw they're gonna have Fraggle Rock. How cool is that? It's going to be like the 80's all over again. No more of these crappy new cartoons that are out now.
