Congrats Rebecca!

Wow. Right now we use a 30-60 second under arm thermometer. I hate having to take baby's clothes off enough to get a reading and then holding his little arm down. I'd love to have this!
Squirming, Screaming, hands covering their ears....
These are all things associated with taking one's temperature in my household.
I don't know why but my kids have never been the type to sit still while I take their temperature.
We have tried the digital thermometers.....
They act as if I am trying to choke them.
We have tried the digital ear thermometers....
They act as if I am trying to RING their ears or something.
They squirm around so much that is almost impossible to get an accurate reading.
THAT WAS THEN....
THIS IS NOW...
The Exergen Temporal Scanner thermometer
A little about Exergen Temporal Scanner:
The Exergen TemporalScanner™is the world’s first infrared thermometer designed to measure body temperature by taking a reading from the temporal artery. The patented technology employs an infrared sensor that accurately registers body temperature to within +0.2ยบ F—a much more accurate means of taking the temperature than any other way including oral, rectal, axillary (under the arm) and tympanic (in the ear). It is also the least invasive method, depending upon a gentle sweep over a patient’s forehead.
Congrats Rebecca!

AHA!
Did you get the part about gently sweeping it over your patient's forehead??
That's all it takes is a gentle sweep. You can take their temp when they are SLEEPING!
I love it already.
Also,
Did you get the part about gently sweeping it over your patient's forehead??

I love it already.
Also,
The gentle scan across the forehead, reading the temporal artery, is more accurate and comfortable for the user.
No more "guessing" if you have the correct temperature (peace of mind).
When we first received the Exergen Temporal, I began practicing my mad temp taking skills.
I swept it across everyone's forehead (I even scanned the hubby's forehead!)
I am going to say that the readings were all accurate . . .98.4 and 98.6.
Fast Forward three days later and I got to REALLY put this baby to the test.
I had my first sick kiddo :Sigh:
Temperature was 99.3 ((DING DING)) we have a sick kiddo indeed!
*No, I am not excited about the sick kiddo part but more like excited because I got to fully TEST my new Exergen Temporal Scanner.
Guess what, folks?
The fun didn't stop there.
Two more sick kiddos the next day and this momma was in the temp taking business.
I didn't have any screaming or squirming either.
The kids thought the Exergen Temporal Scanner was rather cool.
(I think they liked the beeping sounds.)
Later they became even more curious because they were walking around taking temps of pretty much everything INCLUDING THE CAT! (Poor kitty)
From now on, we will only be using the Exergen Temporal Scanner.

Well, I currently take my children's temperature using the back of my hand or my lips, but I could really use a more accurate method such as the Exergen Temporal Scanner. Kudos to the non-invasive design!!
Right now, I use the "old fashioned" kind that you have to wait like 3 minutes until it beeps. My boys HATE it! It takes way too long. This would be wonderful for us, so much faster and easier! I would love to have one of these!
thewondermomma(at)gmail(dot)com
I have an ear thermometer right now and when my kids are sick, they have having me stick it in his ear. This new one would make it so much easier and quicker. No more wiggles.
under the tongue- this would be so much cleaner accurate and safer
Right now, we use one that goes under the tongue but it's never accurate. Thanks.
kport207 at gmail dot com
Luckily my baby hasn't been sick yet, but if she were I would have to use the "old fashion" way.
I'd rather use the temporalscanner because its faster and my doctor recommended the old fashion way to get the plumbing going if that became a problem.
I take my daughter's temp orally with a digital thermometer. I'd love to have the Exergen as it would be fast and no more fussing or fidgeting.
Currently, we take temps under the arm w/a digital thermometer.
I would like the giveaway thermometer because it would be accurate, fast and easy
pkbailey@charter.net
under the tongue and wait three minutes. mverno@roadrunner.com
currently still use rectal temp taking and I am so done with it -- the squirm, the wait etc. Little boy just had a fever last week so hoping this fantastic product lives in my medicine cabinet the next time the fever decides to invade.

Wow. Right now we use a 30-60 second under arm thermometer. I hate having to take baby's clothes off enough to get a reading and then holding his little arm down. I'd love to have this!

We use a mercury thermometer now. It would be so much easeier to use this new Temporal Scanner - less fussing, and no problems when the temperature takee is coughing their head off!
Thanks for the giveaway!
I use a regular old thermometer under the kids' tongues. And then sometimes I put it under their arms if they are coughing. I never feel confident reading it. I would love to win this!
I don't have the thermometer, so the back of my hand has to work!
You don't even want to know
luckydolls123[at]verizon[dot]net
I still take my kid's temperatures the old fashioned way. they hate it and well honestly i hate doing that to them. i just love so many things abou the exergen temporal scanner.
teechbiz at gmail dot com
I use an ear thermometer right now. It's not all that accurate. And no matter what I do my daughter screams even mentioning having to take a temp. This sounds much easier!
bs.webster at sbcglobal dot net
We use a digital thermometer under the tongue currently!
jessicabcote@gmail.com
We try to use an ear thermometer. Try being the important part of that sentence. We would love one of these! It seems like it would be so much easier and we wouldn't have to hold her down!
ksieker(at)hotmail.com
We use an old fashioned oral thermometer. Every time I have to use it I tell myself to get something easier to use.
Ellen
eering99@hotmail.com
We use an oral thermometer. Yuck!
meredycat*lycos*com
We use the old fashioned type of thermometer. It is lousy.
I don't have kids but at the daycare center where I worked we used the under the arm method. The exergen would be so much better since it's so simple to use and seems nearly full proof.
We do auxillary temps (arm pit) on my 2 year old nephew!
Thanks for entering me! Great Contest!

This is so sad but I have to pin my two year old down because he just doesn't understand the concept. We use a digital thermometer and it's not the easiest to use on him...Its a battle of wills and he usually wins!
we use a standard oral thermometer
i use an ear one, but i'd like this one much better b/c the ear one is SO inacurate!
autumn398 (at) yahoo.com
I currently take it with an ear thermometer. i would love this because it is more accurate and easier to use
yzgirl4[at]verizon[dot]net
oral thermometer
I have both an ear thermometer and a digital mouth thermometer...I would much rather have the temperal, It is faster, noninvasive and more accurate. I have a houseful (3 adults, 2 children) who tend to get sick one after the other.
dove42(at)comcast(dot)net
I've used a digital oral thermometer, but this one is non-invasive and would not stress a sick child. I also like the accuracy. Thanks for the giveaway.
Right now, I use an older digital thermometer. I don't think it is very accurate though. This one looks so easy and I love the fact that it is non-evasive!
pamela.callahan@sbcglobal.net
I don't have a kid, if I did I'd use something like this preferably.
We use a digital ear thermometer. My 7 year old doesn't mind it, but my baby can't stand it!
I am using digital thermometer but for accuracy I generally use my own judegement:(. This product will take away my two cents which is quite required!!. My elder one who is 6 gets crazily mad seeing that digital thermometer. I am pretty sure Exergen will make life easier.thanks
herry123_us@live.com
We now use a cheap unreliable digital under the tongue thermometer! I need to win this!
My children and grandchildren are all grown, but my granddaughter has a 2 month old, and she is currently using a digital thermometer for axillary temps. Would love to be able to give her this.
clynsg at yahoo.com
I have an oral thermometer now, and the reason I want this Exergen termometer is because when my daughter is sick, she hates using the oral one. Thanks!
We use an ear thermometer, but it's never accurate.
under arm.
but this one seems more accurate..
hope to win for my little one
I just have a regular thermometer and would love to have the new non-invasive thermometer to use on the grandchildren when they are here visiting and become sick.
under the tongue
We use a mercury thermometer now. It would be so much easier to use
this new Temporal Scanner - less fussing, and no problems when the
temperature takee is coughing their head off!
Thanks for the giveaway!
I use the digital under the arm method which is paramount to torture, I like the non invasiveness of temporal reading
I use an underarm thermometer but as a first time mom to a 5 month old I would love an easier way to do it and this sounds like it.
We have tons of thermometers (ear and digital). However none of them are as fast, accurate, or non-invasive as the Exergen Temporal Scanner. This would be a blessing to have.
I use the under the tongue method! I like the scanner method better!
My husband has a loss of hearing in the high frequency range and can't hear the beeping of the regular digital thermometer so he can't tell when is is working or when it is done. This would be great for him.
dvillelaw[at]gmail[dot]com
I use a cheapy digital thermometer that was sent home with us from the hospital when my youngest was born. It's not very accurate and hard to use on a wiggly toddler. Thanks for the chance to win!
sueellison@hcecwildblue.com
With the back of my wrist - advanced huh? haha!

I use a digital
I currently use a digital oral thermometer. I would really love to win the TemporalScanner because it would be so much quicker and easier (on both me and my son). When my son is sick with a cough or stuffy nose he has a hard time keeping the oral thermometer in his mouth and gets frustrated.
talonsmom731 at gmail dot com
I don't have a thermometer. I really could use one and this one looks great.
I take their temperatures in their armpits. Ears are inaccurate (at least my thermometer is), too little for oral, and I am just NOT taking it rectally! This Temporal Scanner would make my life SO much easier, especially with my son's frequent ear infections. Faster, more accurate, quiet... sign me up.
katiekarr at gmail dot com
WOW
I take my son's temp rectally. It's no picnic!
My kids are grown and I want this for one of them and their kids. I used to take their temperatures rectally when they were really small, later with a digital thermometer under the arm.
we use the armpit method. our daughter hates it and yells "ow" the whole time. also it isnt very accurate. the temporal scanner sounds much less invasive and much more accurate. my daughter would be much happier!!
elkesten at yahoo dot com
I currently use an ear scant thermometer on my boys that is less than accurate. You get a ball park reading, but take it 5 times in a matter of minutes and all the readings will vary. This would be so much easier to use and so much more accurate
I use the digital kind that beeps.
i would rather use this because it is quick and noninvasive.
Currently we use the ear thermometer. It would be so much quicker to use the Exergen (and more accurate!), plus no worries about taking temp with a kid whose ear is aching!
garyandalesha at cox dot net
uhhh, i pretty much just touch his forehead b/c he won't let me take his temp actually. i just guess at whether he's too warm or not.
we have an oral thermometer and UGH we hate it,, my son has a horrid gag reflex and holding that under his tongue always leads toa big mess and him feeling worse~!
I have a regular digi thermometer and I usually use the Axilarry method. I really would love this thermometer as my current method takes way too long!
kissyjensen at gmail dot com
this would be a great tool to have around the house...thanks...it's so accurate!
I guarantee you that I need this more than anyone else. My poor 6 and a half year old has to still be subjected to rectal just because he runs such high fevers regularly (103.5 average) that I always need accuracy when I take it. This would save him dignity and me embarrassment and shame.
An oral thermometer.
I currently use a thermometer under the arm on my 2 year old...and in the mouth for my 7 and 12 year old.
My daughter gets super high temperatures--usually between 104 and 105--and usually in the middle of the night. They have to be carefully monitored. This would make it so much easier and less intrusive, right now we use an oral digital.
Jennifer, jennem22 at yahoo dot com
I currently use my hand to check to see if my kid has a fever. I would love to have this since it's not invasive and because I need a thermometer.
samsakara@twcny.rr.com
I currently take my son's temp rectally (still a baby) so that it's accurate but I would love this less invasive way because the current way isn't fun for either of us!
addeviant006 at gmail dot com
currently I use a rectal thermometer on my newborn.... it takes forever! I would really love to save him the stress of that!
toomuchrock@gmail.com
Right now I take my daughters temperatue under her aarm with a digital thermometer. I would much rather use the Temporal Scanner. It looks much more pleasent for the both of us.
inman@Mobap.edu
I've gone thru too many thermometers. This one looks like a keeper.
I take it under her arm, I should saw I try to. She either wiggles arounds, refuses ro have it taken or it is so ticklish she is rolling around with giggles. I would love to really take her temp!
Wooo Hooo Make me a winner!
It's pathetic, but I take their temp using the back of my hand or my lips...We could so use the Exergen Temporal Scanner which is much more reliable than a tired mommy. trinitygsd at yahoo dot com
We have been using an ear thermometer but this would be so nice and handy. Thanks for the chance.
mogrill@comcast.net
I use the rectal one- Only because it is the only one in the house that works! My kids obviously hate it- so I would much rather have this one- they would appreciate it too! :)
cassandra@aubut.net
I'm currently using an antiquated oral thermometer, which results in all kinds of drama. I LOVE that I could use the Exergen to take my sleeping child's temperature!
We use an ear thermometer now. This would be easier and more accurate!
I use the good old glass thermometer. and a lot of patience
jason@allworldautomotive.com
Currently use an oral thermometer, but would love to have this since it is noninvasive
When my little ones are sick I have to use the old style thermometer. I could really use a new thermometer that would make taking temps so much easier. Thanks for the great giveaway.
I take my kids' temp under their arm, or orally for the big kids. The temporal scanner would be faster, easier & more accurate!!!
My Daughter is 18 now, so I don't have to take her temp. FOR her any more. But when I did, it was under the tongue for the most part and what a pain in the buttinsky it was!!! She could not keep her trap shut.. talking, PLUS she had asthma, coughing! OY VEY! What a nightmare! The Exergen Temporal Scanner STILL will be wonderful for OUR Family! A swipe across her forhead and Bam, done! She tends to still run a fever once in a while so this would be a blessing!

To be honest, all I have for my 2-year old is a rectal thermometer. I never got another one since she was born... so thanks for reminding me that I need a new one! This would be awesome, and so much easier!
I take her temperature with a electronic thermometer that the hospital gave me. It just takes forever to register the temperture. This would be so great!
Under the arm with our digital thermometer with with the back of our hands. This seems like it would be so much easier and accurate. Thanks!
We take my son's temp under his armpit. I would much rather use this because I know it would be much more accurate, and I wouldn't have to keep him still to get a good reading. It would make life so much easier.
mommastaci33(at)yahoo(dot)com
Right now we use a regular thermometer under the armpit. My toddlers are so wriggly that this Temporal Scanner would make readings easier and ACCURATE!!
We have a digital thermometer for taking temps now. Of course with wiggly toddlers, I would much rather have the Exergen Temporal Scanner, so I can get a quick and accurate reading, and the baby won't get aggravated.
msurosey@yahoo.com
We use an oral thermometer but it is hard to get a good reading. this would be great to just have to rub it across the forehead. So much easier and less invasive.
Currently use an under-the-tongue thermometer...but this would be so much quicker & easier!!
contact me at:
celeste@mail4me.com
I use the three minutes under the tongue for my older girls and the not so accurate under the armpit for the two younger ones. Both ways take too long for the sick and uncomfortable so I usually use my lips to the forehead. I´d much rather have one of these. Thanks for the chance to win one.
laikilu@yahoo.com
I use an old ear thermometer that you never know if you are using it correctly - this one would be so much easier to use!
Thanks
Sarah
believedreamcourage (at) gmail.com
We use the ear thermometer and it's not easy to get an accurate reading when the sick babe is wiggling!
I currently take my sons temp. with the glass oral thermometer.
I think the Exergen Temporal Scanner would be a good addition to our home because it is a quick, easy, and more sterile way to take a temp. Happy Easter To All.
Thank you
I haven't taken my kids' temps since they were babies. Then I used a digital reading thermometer under the armpit. Now, I put my hand on their foreheads. If they're hot, they have to rest.
We have another similar Therm. I just can't seem to get it to work properly.
I currently take my sons temp through his ears this seems like a better and more accurate solution
I use an ear one but it is not accurate it gives a different reading everytime
We use a regular thermometer that goes under the tongue.
Right now I only take my child's temp by feeling and kissing his forehead. If it feels warm I will give him something like an ibruprophen or an acitamenphen to bring it down. I know not the best thing to do. Thanks for a great giveaway!
Digital by mouth
I like that it is non-invasive unlike the one I currently use with my kids.
right now i take the temp by useing a basic digtial thermomter that i put on the tongue. Why i love to have this is because it takes less than 5 seconds to scan and get a accurate reading. very fast and accurate. ty.
this is a wonderful item, ever take a temp with a cold thermometer under the fevered arm of a child or an ear thermometer in the ear of a sick child? this is painless and quick. Great giveaway
Right now we try all methods to take the temp. Surprisingly, the little one will sit still (probably out of fear) for the back end method longer than for the paci or under arm thermometer. I would much rather use the Exergen Temporal Scanner so we don't have to wake the little one up. Sick kids need sleep!
themeimlookingfor at yahoo dot com
We currently use an oral thermometer - one of the digital ones.
We use an ear thermometer that I am convinced doesn't work half the time :(
Digital under the tongue
the ear kind
I threw away my cheap thermometers that always failed, and got a glass one, with the mercury line in it. I was shaking it to get the line to go down and it flew out of my hands and broke in the bathtub. I am currently using my hand as a fever checker!
harmonden[at]wowway[dot]com
I use an era temp but the baby hates it.
I currently take my childs temperature using an ear thermometer.
My three year old grandson is autistic. It is almost impossible to take his temperature now. This would make life so much easier...
I would like to win this because right now we use a digital thermometer under our baby's arm and she hates it and cries. The reason this would be so much better is because it would be quick, accurate and easy to use, and she wouldn't get stressed out any more.
I would like to win the Exergen Temporal Scanner because I like the idea of just swiping it across the forehead for a reading. We just have a basic digital thermometer that nobody like to put in their mouth and hold under their tongue. Thanks for the giveaway!
We use a traditional sublingual thermometer.
We have one of those bottom heavy electronic thermometers that you have to hold onto or the fall out of the little ones mouths.
I use a drugstore digital thermometer right now and I need this so I can have an accurate measure of my families temperature.
madamerkf at aol dot com
nice!
I would love to win this! I usually pass the job of temperature taking to my poor husband because I hate using the rectal thermometer on our baby! The Exergen Temporal thermometer would alleviate that stress and help me feel more confident when the baby is sick!
jnkrim (at) qwestoffice (dot) net
We currently use an ear thermometer and don't feel that it's very accurate. We would love to try this one!
I would love to have the Exergen it would be so much easier for me since I'm in my fiftys and my grandaughter squigglies all over trying to get her temp.
We currently do rectal temps. I would love to win this so I no longer have to "torture" my daughter to get an accurate temp reading. I am sure she will love you forever if we win! Thanks for the opportunity!
We use a digital thermometer under the arm. This would be much quicker and more accurate. thanks!
braaisjo at gmail dot com
I don't have a child, actually...but I take other loved ones' temps by placing my hand or lips on their foreheads.
Thanks for the chance, and God bless yoU!
I love anything that helps avoid the rectal temp experience plus I love that's it's so simple to use and at the same time very accurate. Thanks for the giveaway!
Currently we have a digital thermometer but it was a cheap one it seems to take forever before it says it's done. This would be a great improvement.
pamelashockley at netscape dot net
I have both a digital thermometer and an ear thermometer and get different readings all of the time! Not very accurate. I'd love to have a temporal scanner!
Hallz 105 at msn dot com
I use a digital thermometer. On my older kids I take it under their tongue. On my son, I take it under his arm. I would much rather use the Exergen Temporal Scanner. It would be quicker and easier. It's a struggle (ie. wrestling match) to take my son's and I'm always afraid that it's not very accurate.
under the tongue. And it isnt that easy I would love something so I can get in an out and not make my daughter be any more uncomfortable
"Poorly" says it best. My younger son is autistic, and tends to get very defensive about anything out of the ordinary. He actually bit down on a digital thermometer hard enough to crack it. This device, needing just a fast swipe across the forehead, sounds like a good solution!
I hate to say it, but we just feel their forheads & give some tylenol if they feel hot. :( Can you tell we really need this? lol
I currently use under the arm method. This seems way more accurate!
tweetyistruckin@yahoo.com
I don't have a thermometer now and would love to have one of these.
digital oral thermometer hes very good at letting it alone. ive never had a problem with him. would be nice to have a quicker method. thanx
We use a digital thermometer under the arm which isn't very reliable and the kids squirm. It takes forever. This thermometer would be SOOO much easier!
bleuteam at gmail dot com
Right now I use the under the arm method, it dont work out too well! I would love to have this so I know Im getting an acurate temp everytime. Thanks for the chance!
This is easy and non invasive! Thank you for the Opportunity!
We use a digital thermometer. I'd rather be using the Exergen Temporal Scanner cause taking the temp of a infant is not easy with the digital one! Love the fact that it's non-invasive.
I have an oral thermometer. It's too hard to get an accurate reading. It's too uncomfortable to use. This one would be soooo much easier and better to use.
Just use a regular thermometer!
What a wonderful contest - thanks for posting! This looks like a great thermometer.
We have an oral thermometer but I don't really trust its accuracy! thanks, justicecw@hotmail.com
under the arm...it is so hard to get them to keep it there
sarawins@hotmail.com
Hand to forehead, but obviously not accurate. Can only judge when to get to a doctor now! Regular thermometers cause much fussing, this would be a great relief.
We currently use the old fashioned mercury thermometer. This new exergen scanner would be great because of its simplicity and non invasive!
I take my kids temps orally I would love this because I won't have to fight my kids to get an accurate reading
Currently, I take take the temperature of my 7 and 5 year old orally. For my 15 mth old I use the armpit. I would love to not have to hold my child down to get a reading. Also waiting for a regular thermometer to get a reading seems like an eternity!

Under the arm one...
This looks like a neat and helpful device, easy to use, accurate and non-invasive, what's not to love?
We still use a digital and this would be great to give our daughter who is haveing her 3rd child Thursday. With a toddler and a new baby it will be great to have one of these non invasive thermometers for her to use.
Thanks for the offer.
naturetoclickatyahoodotcom
I currently use an ear thermometer. The Exergen Temporal Scanner seems more accurate.
I have a digital thermometer but it's still the old fashioned kind. My four year old I use it under his arm and for my 14 month old we do it the real old fashioned way. This thermometer would make it so much easier. I could even use it while their asleep.
I usually use an old fashioned thermometer or the back of my hand.
my mom used the inside of her wrist, and could tell what our temp was, i cant even get it right with a thermometer. the temporal scanner is what i need!
I use a cheap digital thermometer and my daughter hates doing it under her tongue. We would love to try this! thanks :)
Right now, we use the regular mercury thermometer under the tongue method. How great it would be to glide this over the forehead. Quick easy and convenient! Thanks!
I have a 13 mo old baby girl that gets a lot of ear infections and with that comes the fever. Taking her temp is nearly impossible. I take a underarm reading and she skirms and screams like she is in terrible pain. The themometer rarely takes a reading from all the moving. So on to the rectal themometer it is the same thing with this method. They even have trouble at the doctors office. My little girl is determined to not get her temp read. This would be great for us. I can't afford to buy one so maybe I can win it.
Thank you so much for the opportunity!!
We have a cheap dinky digital one! I would love this because its more accurate, faster and you dont have to interrupt sleeping babies!
fitforachild at gmail dot com
I have one of the digital thermometers you put in your ears to take the temperature. The only thing is I got it years ago and now I can't find the replacement sleeves anywhere so I can't use it! I would love this thermometer because it makes temperature taking easy and quick!

I'm currently using the ear thermometer. I'd love to use the temporal scanner because it seems easier. Love that it's non-invasive.
Right now we use one of the oral temp readers. It is not a fun time when the babies are sick. I would much prefer to use this one because it will not be invasive, and my children will be happier. Therefore, i will be happier.
We currently use a thermometer that we place under her arm, but she's pretty squirmy so something I simply run across her forehead would be much simpler.
I stilluse the old fashion glass thermonetor !
I worry about spreading grems so I soak it in alcohol.
Then no maater how much I rinse it the kids say it taste yuck.
Would love to try the Temporal Scanner.
I got 4 kids here, 3 cats & two dogs............

I use a regular thermometer, and since my kid is a regular talk-show host both when I'm taking a temperature and on the phone, it takes ten years to accomplish.
With the scanner, I'll be finished in record time, and she can get back to talking in seconds flat - - or talk right through it! How exciting!
I use a digital thermometer now but I would love this one because it's more accurate and less invasive. Thanks for the giveaway!
I currently take temperatures with a regular glass thermometer. I would much rather use the Exergen Temporal Scanner because it sounds very easy to use and gentle.
We have an oral thermometer.
This would be so handy 2 own to use on the grandkids and whoever else is sick in the household :) ty 4 the entry:)
I use an oral thermometer, my daughter hates it! The temporal scanner seems much more easy & quick!
