The NEW Tween Dora

Hey Moms....
Let's cause a riot!
WHY? THERE'S A NEW TWEEN DORA on the loose.
(insert loud screams here)
That's right, Dora is growing up and some mom's are MAD!
But WHY??
Mad because after 10 years of being 4-5, she is finally getting a little older?
Mad because she's moving to a bigger city?
Mad because she's going to middle school?
Mad because she's getting a NEW LOOK?
What is the big deal ? Someone please lay it out for me because I do not understand.
One of the articles mentioned this as being the problem :

::Gasp::
Dora is going to be a BLACK Silhouette...no wonder everyone is going crazy!
OH MY ! For the love of BOOTS! Say it 'aint so.
Ok, she's not really going to look like that. It's just a TEASE of the REAL DORA to come. Some say she is going to look like a tramp. Some say she is too GIRLY (umm hello? She IS a GIRL, ya know?) and some just don't agree with the change.
To calm everyone down they went ahead and released the REAL DORA behind the silhouette.

Does she look like a tramp to you? At least she is wearing tights and not some HOOCHIE MAMA clothes like those NASTY looking BRATZ dolls. Now there's something that should make you mad.
I am still not getting the big deal? Kids have to grow up eventually. I am surprised she stayed 4-5 for as many years as she did. If she were a kid on a soap opera she would have grown up overnight.
What are your thoughts?
Will you let your kiddos play with the new Dora doll or will you boycott it?

Funny! I just wrote a post on the "tween" Dora last week :-) Personally, it doesn't matter to me, but I have to wonder why they "aged" her. I mean, do tween girls really want an older Dora? Why not just create a new cool character for them? Augh, I love the marketing genius of it all though :-) LOL

I think the new Dora is cute and modest, which is great. But I also agree with ParentingPink above.
I totally agree with you about those horrid Bratz dolls too! Awful and skanky!
