I liked the litter box tip best. Our basement always smells because of the box.
April 11, 2009 2:32 PM

I will be honest....
If we didn't have one animal loving little girl in our household that BEGGED and PLEADED for a pet then we probably wouldn't have one at all. Ok, WE WOULDN'T HAVE ONE!
I was never an animal lover. I mean they are OK and everything but I have three kids and a husband to clean up after. I didn't need another mess to clean up, kwim?
Needless to say, the big girl asked for a few years and we finally gave in a couple of years ago for her birthday.
(Yep, we made her wait that long 'cuz I am mean like that.)
She asked for a cat so we went to the local animal shelter and rescued Mew.

In all honesty, we got lucky with Mew. She was litter trained (Thank GOD!), she only wants to eat cat food, and she is great with the kids. The only flaw MEW has is . . . .
HAIR BALLS!
I never knew what hair balls were until Mew came along. I mean sure, I have heard of them but had no clue what to expect.
I will save you the icky details and just say that I AM HAIR BALL AWARE now!
And when she has those "hair balls", she doesn't run to the toilet or litter box she lets them go right on my floor. . .MY CARPETED FLOOR.
If you knew me personally then you would know that I go crazy over any type of stain on my carpet.
STAINS EMBARRASS ME.
STAINS PREVENT ME FROM INVITING PEOPLE OVER TO MY HOUSE.
*or at least that's my story and I am sticking to it*
I am proud to say that I no longer have to deal with hair ball stained carpet thanks to Clean + Green.

About Clean + Green : Clean + Green is the only eco-friendly aerosol pet cleaning products on the planet. Unlike most other cleaning products that can be harmful, require multiple applications and/or only temporarily mask odors, Clean + Green delivers instant results in a non-toxic, eco-friendly solution. Clean+Green permanently cleans pet stains and eradicates odors. It is safe for pets, people (kids too!), and the planet.
Each Clean+Green product is individually formulated to address a specific odor/stain problem and can be used on carpet and area rugs, wood floors, tile, cement and all fabrics – even litter boxes! Clean+Green uses a patented Advanced Encapsulation Technology™ and an Advanced Eliminator 3 Formula™, developed by scientists to take care of the planet while cleaning up massive environmental problems like oil spills. The products naturally encapsulate and eliminate stain and odor on contact – even skunk odor! – by naturally biodegrading the stain/odor source.

I actually got to properly "review" this product as soon as it arrived.
I sprayed the "stain" and walked away.
How simple was that? There is no scrubbing involved, no vacuuming, and NO WORRY!
I came back to the "stained area" about 30-40 minutes and it was gone. I actually had a hard time finding the spot that I treated.
My thoughts: LOVE THIS!
I also love the fact that it eliminates all odors.
A little side note: It takes care of "human" odors too! The lil princess had a mild "accident" the other day and I was curious so I sprayed Clean + Green and it WORKED!
This product is a MUST-BUY for anyone with pets.

Would you like to try Clean + Green?

The litter box tip was most helpful. I do find that even after I clean the litter box, I still smell the nasty "dirty" litter smell. This would help me cover up the grossness.

Doghouses, dog runs, carpets, any porous surface, etc. can be a troublesome odor problem. Spraying the area once a week with the Carpet, Concrete or Multipurpose – Direct products safely control odors. Cages, crates or pet beds giving you a problem? Spraying the area with the Cage, Furniture or Multipurpose – Mist product will do the job.

I learned that HINT : When urine is deposited on carpet, it will spread in a wider area underneath. Think of a pyramid; the tip is the surface of the carpet and the base is underneath. So you will have to spray a wider area than just where the urine was deposited.

Hey, for minimizing hairballs use Petromalt (you can find it at any pet store) and give a inch of it to your kitty every 4 or 5 days. It has virtually eliminated my calico's hairballs.

SPORTS ODORS

The stench from hockey and other sports equipment and lockers is so bad that it can knock you out. Spray CLEAN+GREEN for Carpet & Upholstery or Multipurpose Direct on sports equipment and lockers and say goodbye to stench — at least until the next game.

I love the tip about dog odor. We have a dog, and on occassion, she has accidents. I also love that they claim to not mask the odor, but eliminate it. I must say that I am also a mom of 3 boys, so you never know when it may come in handy!

Thanks for a chance to win!

I have trouble with the litter box, so most helpful was-if you have a smell in the litter box after you remove the litter, just spray on the litter box and rub it in with a cloth to get rid of the remaining smells.

Our hamper always smells musty, so the tip I found most helpful is: "Multipurpose Mist in your closet or the hamper will eliminate the odor in the air."

Becky on April 17, 2009 at 9:41 AM said...

I think the tip about the carpets was the most helpful..

2) If there is still an odor present after the second application, it may be that the odor source has saturated the carpet and carpet pad. To get to the odor source, you will need to pull up the carpet and spray CLEAN+GREEN directly on the carpet pad. Also, check the back of the carpet for odor, and if present, spray the back of the carpet. Allow it to dry and check to see if odor is completely gone. If some odor remains apply second application following directions above.
