Bloggers make Squinkies a HUGE hit. Yep, I believe it.

I just read this article from The New York Times, Squinkies Maker Savors Demand for Holiday’s Hot Toy.

With the help of “mommy bloggers” and a tepid economy, Mr. Nichols turned the squishy toys, named Squinkies, into a fad.

 

Yep. (shaking head up and down) It's true!

Squinkies is still the #1 keyword used to find my blog and I posted that review back in July!

The Squinkies review that I did on video (Youtube)? Well, it's almost at 30,000 views!

I still can't find them in most stores.

A MAGICAL visitor . . .

He showed up without notice.

He's wearing funny shoes and a hat to match.

He's been acting strange.

Crackers and Water only?

He makes the kids act "different".

Yes, folks.

We have a visitor. He's magical and mysterious.

HE is an ELF!

Yep, a magical elf.

His name is Blake.

We found him in our laundry room. I'm not sure how he got there but he came with a suitcase packed with pajamas. (passport says he's from the North Pole) He plans to stay until Christmas Eve according to the dvd that we watched. 

The kids didn't know what to expect at first. They were a little shocked as was I. 

The magic?

An hour after he arrived, my son went into my daughter's bedroom and started cleaning it WITHOUT BEING TOLD TO! Yeah, that's magic!

Mischief: Oh, he has caused some mischief alright.

The first night he was here not only did he make a mess with his crackers and water but he also decided to get into my christmas candy! SHAME ON YOU, Blake.

Last night he decided to play a trick on the kids and hide in one of our chandeliers. My youngest daughter woke up and could not find him so she decided to wake everyone up in the house to hunt for him.

Yeah, she did.

Oh, Blake. What are we going to do with you?

 

The paperwork says he is supposed to report back to Santa Claus every so often. I hope he tells Santa good things about us. 

(I'm nervous!)

Allowance Manager

Do you give your kids an allowance?

If so, Do you just give it to them and expect the best? Let them spend it how they see fit?

Well, if you've been visiting the blog for some time now then you will probably notice our love for anything Crafty. My kiddos like to cut, glue and add glitter to just about everything.

This past week we had the opportunity to review Klutz Window Art-Classic and Capsters.

(Check out our vlogs from this past week to see both crafty projects in action.)

 

Both projects were tons of fun but our favorite was the Window Art. Each kid had a great time deciding which picture they would paint. Now we have several works of art hanging on our windows. Several of the neighborhood kids have already asked about them.

I would recommend both crafts as a way to enjoy a little time with your children. They would also be perfect to do during birthday parties or sleepovers.
