For the family pet, 9 Lives Advanced Nutrient System *Giveaway*

This giveaway is now closed.

Congrats goes out to . . .

I really enjoyed reading all (yes, I read every one of them) of your cat stories.

Thanks for entering this giveaway!!

Meet Mew (pronounced ME-YOU)
Odd name choice? I know. I didn't name her. The oldest kiddo did. She's actually named after a Pokemon character but that's a story for another day.

mew1

Mew is a very picky cat.
VERY PICKY

She's the oddest cat that I have ever seen in my life.
She won't eat tuna.
She won't drink milk.
She doesn't want wet cat food.
NO table scraps...
Only drinks water from the toilet....(Clean, of course)
See?
She's odd.
She also only eats one brand of dry cat food.

Or should I say she USED to only eat one brand of cat food.

We've tried a few different brands too. Cheap and Expensive Ones

When My Blog Spark offered me the chance to review 9 Lives Advanced Nutrient System foods I was a little hesitant but decided to give it a try anyway.

The package came in the mail complete with goodies for Mew (toys and such).
I opened the bag and took a whiff....NOT my preference but HEY, it's cat food.
What can ya expect smell wise, right? lol

We poured a nice big scoop into her bowl and waited.
We waited a good hour or so.
She sniffed it quite a bit.
AND THEN IT HAPPENED . . .
She ate some.
AND
Then she ate some more
AND
even more

*You get the picture right? She liked it and we were all shocked.
She just ran out yesterday and I had to put her OLD brand in the bowl. HER OLD BRAND that she LOVED.
Guess what?
She sat there.
She looked at it.
She looked at me and then back at the cabinet.
She wanted the 9 Lives! lol

Daddy is picking up more tonight on his way home from work.

I am still shocked!

A little bit about 9 Lives Advanced Nutrient System:
A survey of feline pet parents across the country commissioned by 9Lives found that an overwhelming 94 percent of cat owners are confident they feed their felines the most nutritious meals possible. However, nearly half (48 percent) admit they’ve fed their cats table scraps – which do not provide the essential nutrients cats need – an average seven times per month. Additionally, only 30 percent know that giving your cat milk may not be a healthy practice due to the common incidence of lactose intolerance in adult cats.1

Additional findings include:
  • 23% of American pet parents think it’s beneficial to keep their cats on a purely vegetarian diet, while actually it may be harmful2

  • There are a number of foods that feline parents assume are healthy for cats, but are actually not advantageous to their health including root vegetables (73%), green tomatoes (54%), and raw potatoes (50%)3

  • Nine out of ten feline pet parents would be willing to switch foods if they knew it would provide better nutrition. In fact:

    • 92 percent of cat owners would switch foods if it would improve their cat’s health, and

    • 91 percent would switch food if they could add years onto their feline’s life

In an effort to educate pet parents about the common misperceptions of proper feline nutrition, 9Lives is committed to raising awareness to this issue by providing advanced nutrition for all cats. With the 9Lives Advanced Nutrient System, feline parents everywhere can rest assured knowing their cats are getting the essential nutrients they need to help promote healthy skin and coat, strong muscle growth and a healthy immune system among other benefits.

Our kitty loves going in the bathroom and unraveling toilet paper rolls. Once he gets it on the floor he could sit there rolling around in it, shredding it and throwing it in the air for hours.

My daughter had posters on the wall with push pins.
Our cat would go in and jump up and tear down the posters and pull on the push pins with her mouth until they fell down. My daughter finally gave up tryting to put them all back up.

Everyday when I come home from work, my cat is laying on his back on the stairs waiting for me to scratch his tummy. If I do not do it right away, he will just lay there until Ii do and meow at me every time I walk by. Kind of annoying, but cute!

My cat is getting senile. She thinks that I should get up at 3:30 in the morning. So she first walks all the way up me. Then she sits on my chest and carefully runs her paw all the way across my jaw. She then will very gently put her paw in my ear. If that doesn't work, she will lean over, and yowl in my ear. She never used to do this. I have been trying to play with her before bedtime, but I have noticed the darkness bothers her.

A few years ago I had a kitten born that couldnt walk like the other kittens. I worked with his paws that stuck out like little flippers.

I got him walking but I knew that he wouldnt be like the rest of my outside cats. He sticks close to the house and will not go far at all.

I am proud of every accomplishment he makes.

when I get up in the morning, I boot up the PC to start getting emails, etc. If I sit down and start working on the computer before I feed my cat (her highness), she is NOT happy. She jumps up on the desk and sits between me and the keyboard/monitor! Great door, not so great window. She's very nice about it... just stays, and every couple of minutes resituates... until I finally get up and feed her!

My cat Loki is very playful, but I think the funniest or strangest thing he does is when he "hangs ten". Meaning he will lie down on an arm of an arm chair or on his cat tree and just let his front legs hang down.

Our cat is a geat hunter! If a fly gets in the house, she'll rip the place apart until she gets it. I like the fact that my house is pest free, but I don't like the snags in my curtains, holes in my screens, and broken objects left in her path!

My cat Leo is attached to me. And I mean attached. He will sit outside the bathroom door if I am in there and cry. If I let him in, he walks back out. I close the door, he cries. If I get up off a chair and go in another room, he cries all the way until he sees me again. He sleeps on my bed, right next to me until I have no room. I love being loved but I think I need some more space!

One of my cats loves going outside all the time and bugs us continually to let her out and in. To get in, she bangs her head on the door in order to 'knock' so we know she is there. We've also had to replace the blinds on the porch door because she uses them as a doorbell. Now we keep them up, out of her range.

I have 9 cats. They can tell a can of tuna is being opened no matter where they are in the house. They all come running into the kitchen meowing at the top of their lungs, rubbing our legs. So...we get two large plates out and pour the water from the tuna cans in them.
You can hear thier little tongues lapping up the water. It's really something to see and hear.

Wicket wakes me up in the middle of the night for food and attention (for even if he has food in his dish, he will wake me up to watch him eat). Kali gets out of the litter box, walks over to the water bowl, and tries to bury the dish, thus getting filth in the water. Trickster and Presto glare and growl at each other and neither one will turn the other cheek, they always take the bait and get into it. I guess that's the most annoying things our cats do.

Smokey is approximately 10 years old (was an older kitten when my grandson found him in a snowbank) and never has been a particularly playful cat. But every once in awhile he careens through the house as if he was a broken field runner. leaping up and over furniture, bird cages, etc. Aside from sounding like a thundering horde, no real problem except when he uses the buffet as a jump off point for the top of the china cabinet and knocks over pictures. Have had to replace a couple of glass fronts from them.

Annoying: We have 2 adult cats. We recently moved, and the only place that is available
for the cat box is in our office closet, which we keep open. Let me say that we stay in
the office about 60% of our waking day. Anyway, these cats have some of the foulest smelling
poops ever! That's not exactly the annoying part. When one of our cats goes into the
closet, we want to quickly run to the other room. She'll be in there for a while, you can
be sure. As SOON as she finishes, the other one will whip right in there and do it too! So
not only are we dealing with one smell, we gotta deal with both of them at the same time!
Maybe a change of the food they are eating will make it smell less. I sure hope so!

Well it's not really funny or cute, but our cat likes to chew on electrical wires (I read that they can sense the electricity flowing through them). So we've been forced to coat the wires in our home with hot sauce...seems to work.

Hmmm.. Well, I have six of them. From age 16 to kitten. Boys, girls, a mom and her son, it's a mad house here. (and 2 big dogs - and 3 kids). The funniest thing is watching the son pick on his mother who gets mad, sulks and then turns around and does it to him. Or when they jump to the top of the cat tree and smack you in the head when you walk by. Or the cat that chases every shadow in the basement. The oldest, she's basically deaf and blind now but that doesn't stop her from being the meanest cat in my house. She eats anything. Bacon, chicken, tuna, DORITOS...and at her age, I let her have whatever she wants lol. Okay, I could go on for days....

My cat thinks she is a baby. When I first got her I would cuddle her on my shoulder, now she thinks that is her own personal space. She has gotten pretty heavy but she still leaps up in my lap then climbs up on my shoulder. Cute, but it gets annoying sometimes.

Shebe is a very loving animal. She has grown up in a household of people. She lays out in the middle of the floor on her back, stretches her arms and legs as far as she can and goes to sleep. (Pretty amazing when there are three children running around). When you are petting her, she comes up and pets your hand with hers. CUTE!
