I was in the kitchen one night preparing dinner when the big girl came in to chat...
She was checking out the contents of the fridge and said
"I love eggs and bacon for breakfast."
I immediately replied with
"Me too!" and "Bacon, eggs, pancakes....yum."
"Oh, and those little little hasbrowns that you get at McDonalds, now those are DA BOMB!"
The next morning came.....
They had poptarts (It's what they always want, right?)
That same night the big girl saw a commercial for IHOP and said :
"Yummy, french toast and eggs."
"I love french toast and eggs FOR BREAKFAST."
Of course, I replied with :
"Yum!"
The next morning came.....
And as I was taking the poptarts out of their packaging, the big girl comes up to me and says :
"Mom, one morning can you make A REAL BREAKFAST for us?"
"Eggs, bacon and biscuits?"
What a way to make a mom feel guilty, huh?
Ya know what I did?
I ran over to the toaster and heated her pop tart up.
they usually eat them right out of the package w/o being heated

LOL! Hint, hint! ;) Practically the only thing my boys will eat are eggs. Any way, they just love them. I'm thankful that now my almost 4 year old is finally eating Cheerios with milk. Phew... I was worried there for a second... because who doesn't love cereal, you know? Also, it's like, the easiest breakfast to make!
rofl. mine do alot of cheerios too. what a nice mom u are heating that poptart up....lol
That is too funny. Thanks for following my blog. :)
LOL Out of the mouth of babes... Too funny.
Too funny! I'm so thankful my son thinks getting microwave pancakes is a treat. Easiest "real" breakfast ever!
I'm glad you commented on my blog, so that I could find yours. You crack me up.
I loved the picture of Kate w/ red eyes. Hilarious.
Nothing like a kick to the mommy ego eh? Loved this post :)
try breakfast for dinner... some how it feels like a lot less work
That's hilarious! Sounds like our house. Cereal is our main breakfast staple here. :D

That's so awesome. My kids bought me a toaster so I could make them toast! Love the honesty that only kids can bring.
Don't worry, my kids usually don't have a real breakfast either! popping in from the vintage pearl. cute bows!
i love the concept of trying to be supermom- I try all the time, but always seem to hit a glitch! you are so gifted in your writing- i love smiling as i read your posts- thanks for helping us all get back to reality and feel human! and i love easy breakfasts :)
Well it may be a fail but if you had acutally made the "big" breakfast in the first place with out them asking they would have wanted the pop tarts :)
Love it! Mine wakes up and begs for a cookie. :)
