H-H-Helloooo
Is this thing on?
Um, can ya believe that I did not post one single thing of silliness yesterday?
Today I bring you another MOMMY CONFESSION . . .
Confession, not Confusion.
I'll save that one for ANOTHER day.
What's your confession, Linda?
IMA CHEATER!
UH HUH.
You know that thing that EVERYONE ELSE'S KIDS do but not mine.....no way NOT THEM?
For instance, when they are racing one kid will take an itty bitty shortcut just to get to the finish line quicker.
Or when they are playing a game and they don't like the number that the dice rolled for them.
What do they do?
Well, of course they ROLL AGAIN until they get a better number.
Don't you shake your heads.
YOUR KID IS A CHEATER!
CHEATER CHEATER PUMPKIN EATER!
And what does this have to do with YOU, Linda?
Oh yeah....
Me
It's all about ME today.
I cheat when reading bedtime stories.
My kids have this mentality that BIGGER is always BETTER so they always seem to pick the Biggest book that they can find.
BIGGER meaning the one with the most pages.
Do you see where I am going with this?
YeAaAaAh
I start with the best of intentions, I really do.
AND THEN . . .
we get to page 3 and it all goes downhill.
Ya see, I start making up my own story.
My stories usually start like this :
There was a beautiful princess that had a rockin' mom, they all lived happily ever after . . .
THE END!
or DID I?
I discovered that many books now come with CD'S.
AH-HA!
Could this be the answer to my prayers?
hmmm
NO
because I still have to turn the pages
and
well
sometimes I would become distracted and forget
which meant
the lil tykes would be all "MOM!" "MOOOOOOM"
Oops....
So, the next time you pull out SNOW WHITE and start reading it to my kid and she says
"That's not how the story goes"
Well, it's all because of ME.
I am so ashamed.
Ok, maybe only a little but I am still ashamed.

That sounds too familiar. I have done the same thing many times. Usually with the long books and most often before bedtime when I am so tired, I feel like I cannot get through the story. Sometimes, I just take shortcuts and skip a few pages, sometimes my daughter catches on, sometimes she does not. it depends on whether she is familiar with the book. I do read her books, I know it is important, but there is times when I am not really feeling it.
I think they choose the longest books possible before bedtime so that they can stay up later. Wait until our kids are older reading these blogs..they are going to find out all our little secrets =)
I CHEAT TOO. Well only on the small things in life LOL, but I do. My hubby gets mad at me for it, but coming from a guy who did cheat in school on occassion I don't have to listed to him. LOL
I got called out by Mini #1 the other night for doing that! I mean seriously, it seems that I can't get by with anything with this 3 year old. They get smarter and smarter...
Thanks for sharing this...I feel that sometimes I am the only one that tries to take these little "mommy shortcuts."
stopping by from SITS very nice blog. I'll be back
Who doesn't cheat?
Too funny! I definitely cheat on things around here too.
(Reading's actually not one of them though because it's the only time of the day my son sits still!)
Oh gosh If I start confessing now it'll be a flood....
lol i confess...i am a cheater too.
Been there too! Although I have mostly skipped through the pages and get busted cuz they know that's not what is next! Have I told you yet I love your profile picture! It makes me crack up every time I see it! Your a cutie!
I tend to cheat on the bedtime stories too. Especially books I know really well and I can just skip a page or two. Like the books with the alphabet as part of the story. I just skip from A to be P so I only have to read half of the alphabet. I'm so worried that he'll go to school on of these days and tell the teacher her alphabet is wrong because it's not the way mommy reads it in his books.
Thanks for stopping by.
So funny that you do that! I can't do that... I'd feel too guilty... and plus my oldest son knows his books and if I so much as miss ONE word, he tells me! LOL!
