and it started with a hair ball

You must hum Alanis Morissette's song "Ironic" while reading this post.

Before I got out of the bed this morning, I was laying there thinking about how nice it would be to jump into the bathtub and just soak for awhile.
(My back has been hurting lately and that is the only thing that makes me feel better.)
Then I realized that not only was hubby still sleeping but the kids would be up at any minute.
No bath for momma.

I came in here and jumped on the computer for a few minutes. I'm sitting here browsing and I hear it.
It as in THE CAT PUKING.
There's no other sound quite like a cat hacking up a hair ball.
NOPE nothing compares.

I sit here and brew for a few minutes and then hear Kiddo number 1 coming down the stairs.
"AHEM: Clean up on step number 1", I yell.
Afterall, the cat is only MY cat when she's not puking.

As she is finished cleaning up I notice that she's making her way towards the garbage can in the kitchen.
"OH NO YOU DON'T", I said.
"Take that to the bathroom and flush it."

*CUE THAT MUSIC*
You know the music....the music that plays when something bad is about to happen.

Big Girl: "The toilet is stopped up."
Me: "GRRR!"

I rush in there and water is coming out and it's everywhere.
Not just a normal clog.
There is 3-4 inches of water in there.
I clean it up and try to flush again.
MORE FLIPPIN' WATER
The floor is soaked
Towels are soaked.
I'm soaked.
Toilet is still clogged.

Did I mention that I was irritated?
Yeah, because I was.

I finally get it cleaned up for the second time.
I head to my bathroom.
I'm getting that bath that I longed for this morning.

AFTER cleaning up the floor soaked with the water... by the girl with the paper towel....the paper towel that was puked on by the cat....the cat with the hair ball...

Let me also mention that after I was done with my soak, I realized that there were no clean towels.
*See above.

They say it's all about the journey.
hmph...

FYI: One paper towel is flushable. Six paper towels, NOT SO MUCH.
I knew we should have bought that big brawny guy's papertowels.

P to the S: This is not the post that I was going to publish originally. I'll save that one for tomorrow.

Guess what? It involves bathtubs too.
How ironic.

Run! Get out of your house before there's another incident!

Better than the toilet incident we had on Easter Sunday. One of my 'little darlings' used too much toilet paper and walked away. I went upstairs to change contacts and notices my bedroom carpet was wet. As I got closer to the bathroom I saw other things on the floor. I ran out of there yelling for hubby to clean the mess. He became good friends with the shop vac and clorox that day.

Oh no! Well glad you got your bath at least... even if you did just have to drip dry :)

LOL! At least nothing came up in the bathtub? Hope you enjoyed your soak (without the towels, as it's better to air-dry anyway! hey!)...

Gotta love toilets...not. I finally bought one of those toilets that is supposed to be able to flush "a whole bucket of golf balls." Knowing my boys, that theory will surely be put to the test! Thanks for stopping by my blog! Happy Blog party! :)

Forgot to mention JC Penney towel sales where they're buy one get one free or get the 2nd one for a penny are FANTASTIC.

Sounds like a day at my house. For the record, an entire roll of toilet paper won't flush either, but it will soak up most of the water. Rubber bath squirters require the purchase of a snake if you don't already own one, and kindergartener sized socks generally do go down with no issue. Oh, and matchbox car race track pieces are a total no go. That's just my experience with kid #1. Waiting for kid #2's bathroom escapades.

Huh-huh-huh-huh-huh... Oh a nice present from the cat.

Why, I ask, does ours have to find the one square of rug we have in the whole hardwood floored house?
