If you are looking for a great gift idea then I highly suggest this book. (especially during Christmas time)
I loved this book!
It highlights true Christmas memories from the Cole family on one specific year during the 1920's.
This was a special Christmas indeed....
You see, the Cole children (all 9) were able to choose one item from the Sears Roebuck catalog. Making this Christmas extra special because money did not come easy for the coal mining family.
You will be delighted to hear how the children chose their "Wish List" items and when an unexpected snowstorm that stops the mail and packages from being delivered in time it will warm your heart to read about how they saw the true meaning of Christmas without their gifts and instead with family.
The book consists of 9 chapters which is excellent for readers ages 8-12 and the illustrations make you feel like you are right in the middle of the book.
I couldn't put this one down so it was read within a couple of hours. My daughter is now reading it and she is enjoying it just as much as I did. This is definately one to share with the whole family!
