The Thomas & Friends television show is based on the books by Reverend W. Awdry.
The show follows the adventures of Thomas, a cheeky tank engine and all his engine friends.
Set on the imaginary island of Sodar, Thomas' world is an idlyllic place with a willingness to embrace good manners, hard work and a desire to be really useful- the ultimate steam engine praise.
All three of my children have watched Thomas and YES, we have some of the toys.
It really is a cute cartoon with a positive tone. Unlike most of the cartoons on t.v. now days.
If you have a little Thomas lover in your household then you must check out ThomasTrackmaster.com. Your child can play interactive games right there on line as well as print out Thomas the Tank coloring sheets and activities. Yes, you can also get information on the latest toys too!
