Madeline At The White House book giveaway

Does your little one read the Madeline book series? If so, here is a brand new book for you!

Madeline At The White House

About the Book

Welcome to America, Madeline!

Madeline and friends are off to enjoy a wonderful American adventure. The White House in Washington, D.C., is their destination, where they are the guests of the president’s lonely only daughter for the annual Easter Egg Roll. Cake and ice cream, dress-up games, and scary stories told in the dark are capped off by a magical nighttime tour of the capital’s most famous landmarks, before it’s time for the twelve little girls in two straight lines to say, “Au revoir, America!”

The Story Behind the Book

“The idea for sending Madeline to the White House was my grandfather’s and grew out of his friendship with Jacqueline Kennedy. In a series of letters from late 1961 and early 1962, my grandfather sounded out the First Lady on ideas for the book, which he proposed calling “Madeline visits Caroline,” with text from Mrs. Kennedy herself. My grandfather died in 1961, before the book was finished.” – John Bemelmans Marciano, author and illustrator of Madeline at the White House and grandson of Madeline creator Ludwig Bemelmans.

Sounds like another winner, right?

So cool! Actually my favorite book always has been the first Madeline in Paris book. I was the little girl who talked about Paris all of the time and now my bedroom is Paris-themed :) I bought the first Madeline books for my daughter for her birthday coming up but I didn't see this one! This has to be one of my favorite give-aways I've seen yet
